The plants in a taiga are not that diverse because of the climate. Evergreen trees are the most common type of tree that is in a taiga forest. Lichen and mosses also survive in taiga forests. Before the Europeans settled here, beavers chopped down trees and built dams and lived in harmony with the other animals in the taiga forest.
